Zach began his career at Dickson Electric System (DES) in April 2004, shortly after completing his service as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense Specialist in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He started as an Apprentice Lineman and worked his way up to Journeyman Lineman before transitioning into substation operations in 2013.
In 2016, Zach was promoted to Substation Maintenance Supervisor, where he oversaw the monitoring, maintenance, and operations of eight electrical distribution substations serving more than 35,000 customers across Middle Tennessee.
Today, Zach uses his extensive experience in the electric utility industry as a Safety Consultant, helping organizations strengthen their safety culture, reduce risk, and protect the lives of lineworkers in the field.
A devoted husband and father of four, Zach credits both his family and his lineman brotherhood for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his recovery from a life-changing accident.
